Autumn capsule wardrobe 2022, coats, blazers and knitwear

I’ve decluttered and organised, given away and donated and I’m finally ready to share my Autumn capsule wardrobe 2022 with all my coats, jackets, blazers and knitwear. This is actually part one so do keep an eye out for part two where I’ll be sharing my tops, bottoms and dresses. But for now here’s my edit: If I could only have 33 pieces on my rail this season what would they be? And how would I style them together? Let me show you what I picked.

I’m Wearing:

Finally back in stock and definitely a pair of trousers for my capsule:)

Of course, the first thing on my list are the coats. A good coat is definitely worth investing in, and there are so many great options available this year. You could go for a classic camel coat, or a draping wool in ecru? No matter what you choose, make sure you keep an eye on the fabric composition. I like wool blends the best with just a hint of cashmere if it’s affordable. Too much cashmere and I worry it won’t be hardy enough to last me to years so a blend gives me the softness with longevity for years to come.

The Leather Bomber Jacket-

If I could only choose 1 jacket for my ideal Autumn capsule wardrobe this 2022 it would have to be a leather bomber jacket. They’re having a moment again this year, sitting alongside the 90s fashion trends we’ve been seeing all over the runway. I would list here the ways you could style it but to be perfectly honest it would be a very long list! They go with just about everything! I opted for one in a dark brown to compliment the colour palette I already have in my wardrobe but of course black is an absolute classic that would never date.

Blazers – The Navy

Blazers and me are best friends:) I just love a good blazer, in fact when I spot one with an interesting cut, made from a beautiful blend of fabric in a shape that feels hugely on trend but timeless too I have to snap it up! Not only are they some of the hardest working pieces in my wardrobe for Autumn but I hazard a guess they will continue to do so for many years to come. That’s why, like a beautiful coat, I’m always happy to invest. I save my pennies and opt for the highest quality within my budget safe in the knowledge it will pay for itself in wear very very quickly. It was hard for me to narrow it down to a few key blazers but the below selection ticks a box for every occasion this Autumn.

Knitwear

The main reason to be excited about colder days is of course the return of all that gorgeous knitwear. And thanks to the high street and a sprinkle of new independent stores popping up, it’s easier than ever to find high quality without breaking the bank. These are some of my favourites I deem essential to have on my Autumn rail.
