If you’re wanting to add a sprinkle of French style chic into your Winter outfits this season, this post should help.
Having been a fan of Parisian fashion for as long as I can remember I’ve dissected the style to figure out what it is that makes French women look so chic. And lucky for you I’ve written it all down in one handy blog post;) French style chic, made easy.
When I look at a stylish French Woman there’s a mysterious quality their look. I often use the word ‘nonchalant’ to describe this essence but that makes her sound stuffy somehow and that’s not what I mean. It’s more about the effortlessly chic way they put their outfits together. Genuinely looking like they haven’t tried at all (though I’m imagining everything is well thought through).
The hair just tousled, the makeup smudged from the night before and that Chanel bag casually slung over their simple jeans and jumper combo. And while Chanel may be featured heavily in their looks, there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t emulate the look on a more realistic budget. So that’s what I’m sharing with you all today:)

As you’ll see in this video I thought you’d find it helpful to see a Winter capsule wardrobe of my ‘French style essentials’. Those pieces I find I reach for more than anything else when I’m trying to add a little Parisian spirit into my outfit ideas. In the description box on my channel you’ll find links to the pieces I have but also alternatives for all budgets as this really is an easy look to recreate whatever you spend.

A beautiful boxy blazer would be one such piece I would always recommend in Winter or Summer. However in the colder months I do find having one a little oversized more helpful so I can layer a chunky knit underneath. There are lots of options across the high street and with the designers I would just say keep your eye out for the fabric content. I really dislike polyester blazers, aside from being rubbish for the planet they make me hot and sticky to wear:/

When I think about French style in comparison to Italians there’s always an understated edge running through each look. The Italians love a bit of glam and it has to be said look incredible doing it, but it’s the laidback chic look of the French that I’ve always veered towards. I don’t want my outfits to look like I’ve tried too hard but obviously I do want to feel chic and put together. Getting the balance takes time but it’s not unattainable in the slightest.

I really hope this video and post has given you some insight into achieving a little French style chic into your own Winter outfits and I’d love to hear your favourite look in the comments below?
